Dronfield Against Incineration
Posted by richardbembridge in Dronfield Against Incineration on October 19th, 2009
Dronfield has recently begun to organise a group to protest the incinerator.
Our main campaign goals are:
Stage One: Inform
Aim: spread awareness of the issues and get the entire Dronfield community to help.
Progress: ongoing – awareness levels in Dronfield are now high.
Stage Two: Protest
Aim: arrange a mass public protest rally in Dronfield that is well-covered by both local and national media.
Progress: complete – a well-attended rally was held in Cliffe Park.
Stage Three: Publicise
Aim: get Matlock’s attention on the depth of feeling in Dronfield.
Progress: ongoing – media organisations attended the rally.
We currently have a number of volunteers but could do with plenty more. We aim to achieve the above goals by using our own efforts but also by using our wide network of contacts.

Fundraising- Can You Help?
Posted by James in Fundraising, What You Can Do to Help on October 3rd, 2009
Latest fundraising events:
Jumble Sale, 1pm – 3.30 pm on Saturday 12th December at Barlow Village Hall
Please come along and pick up a few bargains! Donations of good quality jumble, or cakes/mince pies etc to sell would be appreciated, as well as volunteers on the day if you can spare some time. Jumble can be dropped in advance at Dunston lodge, Dunston Lane, Chesterfield, S41 9RJ (either at kennels reception 10am-4.30pm, or house – 01246 453 770)
Christmas Get-together – 5pm – 10pm, on Sunday 13th December at The Olde House (function room), Loundsley Green, Chesterfield
There will be a children’s entertainer from 5pm until around 7pm, followed by entertainment from a local theatre group, Young Inspirations Theatre Company. There will also be a raffle/promises auction. No tickets are required but donations on the door would be appreciated. So everyone is welcome to join us for this event. As well as fundraising we thought it would be a good chance to catch up with all the people we’ve got to know over the last year or so, and have a few drinks before Christmas! Donations of raffle prizes (perhaps from local business owners you know of) or promises (e.g. the offer of your time/skills) would also be appreciated. Although no tickets are required it would be helpful if people are able to indicate whether or not they intend to come so we can get an idea of numbers (cai@dunstonlodge.com)
Fundraising
All professional/legal fees and the cost of printing leaflets, posters, etc. have been funded entirely by public donations and through fundraising events.
We are still raising funds to help pay for the solicitor, Marrons, who has been representing the campaign group for over a year now and has presented the legal/technical side of our case at key meetings.
Funds are also needed to help pay for printing of leaflets and posters so that we can keep raising and maintaining awareness of these proposals and in particular to ensure that everyone will be aware of the date/venue of the final decision meeting, so they can be there to hear what happens.
If you can help in anyway please contact cai@dunstonlodge.com or cheques, made payable to ‘Chesterfield Against Incineration’, can posted to Chesterfield Against Incineration, C/O Dunston Lodge, Dunston Lane, Chesterfield, S41 9RJ.
